Yes, Inias, I would know, since you are a ground soldier and I am too high-up to see actual battlefield experience anymore, I would know. I am sorry this happened to you. I truly am. Get angry about that statement if you want but I need to know who mutilated you. Whoever has the knowledge, the means, and the strength to do that poses a danger to Castiel, Gabriel, and any other angels who may come here in the future.

[Inias' eyes are hurting too much to do text anymore, and so he switches to voice -- and he sounds tired, impossibly so, his voice faint and soft.

But he sounds triumphant.]

[Naomi sounds raspy and tired. It's fairly unhealthy.]

[There's an odd rattling noise as Inias draws in a breath, letting it out slowly, shuddered.]

But if you want to keep protecting Dean, then so be it. I saw him cut down an innocent person two days ago, I suspected this might be him.

For being inside my head, you do not know me very well.

[Inias is going to cut Dean's throat the moment the hunter makes the mistake of coming near him or his family again. Hester was correct -- and Inias was stupid to believe otherwise. Dean Winchester is poison and the fact that the hunter now has his filthy hands on Inias' Grace is more than proof enough for him that he needs to be cut down.

But fine -- allow Naomi to believe he is protecting Dean out of some misaligned weakness. It would figure as much. And he hasn't got enough energy to argue with her past being difficult.]

Which is why your stubbornness on this baffled me.

[She knows you better than you think, Inias, but why he would stubbornly protect the name of someone who mutilated and violated him is beyond comprehension.]

I'll take your lack of argument as a confirmation. He did do this.

What baffles me is that I spent my life assisting the poor and downtrodden of humanity and you are the one who gets to retain your Grace.

[It's muffled, as Inias has rolled a bit more fully into his pillow, bitter.]

Your Grace is gone because the world is unfair.

[She could tell him a story that would make that bitterness harden into hatred for the entire world, and all who dwell in it. But in a sense, he is right- he is and has always been a good soldier, a follower of rules, even for his unfortunate siding with Castiel during the civil war it was because his heart was in the right place and he truly believed he was following God.

If anyone deserved this mutilation, it was Castiel. Not Inias.]
